Labor Day Weekend Festivities

Well hello world. I'm going to try this Blogging thing again

So this weekend my cousin and I drove out to California for my Grandpa's funeral (i feel like there's a recurring theme here with my posts) hopefully this will be the last one for a long while. But this trip, was special, my two other cousins Martin and Duncan came along. Martin just got home from his mission in Provo, and Duncan is about to turn in his papers.  Needless to say it was a real good reunion, and what better way to catch up then spend 12 hours in a car with them?

especially when you have such beautiful scenery around you.  Gotta love them salt flats.

The funeral was wonderful, a bagpiper marched in and played while we carried his casket in. It was really neat. After the funeral, we had a little fun and had a few laughs. We're a pretty good looking crew I think.

The rest of the weekend consisted of us reverting to our 14 year old selves. We gave too many wet willies to count, ticked each other until we couldn't breathe, pulled a few pranks here and there and really had way too much fun. Which is pretty impressive considering we were in the most hellish part of california.

On the way to Costco, all four of us sat in the back seat (which we did every car ride), and somehow Martin squished me into the leg space so my legs were in the middle consul of the front seat and my but was in the leg space. Literally folded in half.

Most of the car ride home consisted of me jumping from the front seat to the back seat to try and beat up on the two boys (i was provoked, usually a double wet willy and tickling was the case) but i never won.

Although this picture might look like its three little boys because our hair is all the same length- it is in fact me with Martin and our other cousin Chris.

All in all, even though we all met up for not the happiest of reasons - it was really nice to be able to hang out with extended family and become close with them again. I think we'll have a lot more family time in our future.

Comfort Zone

most people that know me know that i am not a dancer. not in any sense of the word. i just did not inherit that gene (although i'm pretty sure no one in my family can dance) so i guess i did inherit the non dancing gene. i've never taken a dance class, unless cheerleading counts when i was 6 (yeah, i got the sparkle and shine award) or gymnastics when i was 5. Strictly kept to sports.

last night a very good friend of mine, who knows that dancing is my kryptonite suggested forced me to go 80s dancing with her. yes, 80s dancing. she even so graciously lent me a leotard from her dancing days. so we got ready, i grabbed myself one big red bull and prepared myself for what was to come.

i knew i would have a good time. because we always do and she is quite the dancer, so usually i try to copy all her moves (it never works out, i can't keep up with her/my body just does not move like that)

so, needless to say - she was right, we had so much fun. minus one instance where i was about ready to walk home when all of a sudden ABBA came on and everything was better. I am still experiencing my 80s night hangover but it was definitely worth it.

so cheers to you bestie, for taking me out of my comfort zone and in return having a night we will definitely not forget

81 Days

Clearly I have been off the blogger band wagon for a while but I have been peer pressured (more of a friendly reminder) into getting back on the wagon.

So fall semester came and went, Christmas break came not at the happiest of times as my Uncle Ken passed away from pancreatic cancer on December 3 and was buried in Modesto, CA next to his Mother. Uncle Ken was one of the most wise men I have ever known, and I am so thankful that I am related to him. He went through trials that not many people can relate to. After his trials he met a wonderful woman and created a great family with 5 kids. He was a great example to everyone in too many ways to write. I am grateful that we were able to have so many holidays spent with the McNeil family. They are amazing people.

Uncle Ken with Jeremy (my brother), Matthew and Amy (both are cousins)

A painting my Grandma did of Uncle Byron and Uncle Ken (the littler boy) in the Canada wheat fields

Christmas was spent in Olympia, Washington with my brother, Jordan and his wife Bonnie and kids Chase, Collin and Carson. It was so nice to see everyone until practically the whole family got sick. Christmas eve I had a 102 fever, Chase had a cough, Collin was sick, Bonnie was nauseous - everyone in general just kind of felt bad. Good thing Santa still still comes even though you're sick! It was so fun watching the boys open their presents. Collin was opening all of Carson's and Chase was trying to open all of Collin's presents it was pretty funny to watch.

My Dad got Jeremy, Jordan and I all stock of the Green Bay Packers, so now we officially own part of our favorite team The Packers! Such a cool, creative gift that we all really love. Who wants to go to the stock holders meeting in July?

A quick trip to San Francisco with Cousin Kerri, Aunt Nanci and my Mom!

Lucky

I feel so very extremely lucky to have friends like Beth and Landon who are so incredibly talented.
Around the Utah State Fair time - Meg, Elise, Beth, Landon and I went to the fair together. Beth and Landon brought their fancy camera and were able to take some pretty awesome videos of all of us together doing ridiculous things around the fair grounds!

so without any further adieu:

While you're on their website be sure to check out the rest of their videos, they are nothing short of amazing, I promise you that!

So thank you Beth and Landon! You two really are so amazing and giving.

Grateful

I'm Grateful For:

a Best Friend.

you dont find many people in this lifetime that are always on the same page as you. i happened to have found one of those people and somehow we always seem to be thinking and wanting to do the same things.
not a whole lot of people can stand to lay out and tan from 12pm-4 but she can, and wants to!
she is always willing to help me do my make up and curl my hair and genuinely wants me to look good! i grew up with girls who would pull the "oh my gosh! you look great!!" even if i looked like crap.
she isnt afraid to tell me what looks better, or that i'm being a brat.
she has the best advice and isn't afraid to share it.
she looks out for me and will drop anything if i need her.
i'm so grateful i have found a friend like her that is an example to me and that i can look up to and trust telling anything to.
she is hysterically funny and has a heart of gold.

You can call me T-Sweezy, now I'm a rap star

Taylor Swift is in T-2 days. I'm pretty sure we bought these tickets literally a year ago and I can't believe the day is finally (almost) here!!
There will be an astronomical amount of pictures to come I'm sure.

Recently I've been pretty into running, which is weird because I hate running. But I hear it's good for you or something....crazy talk. Also rumor has it, it can get you a body like this.

I wouldn't be mad.

And as we are already planning Spring Break '12 (hopefully to CANCUN) I need to start working so I can look like Hope Solo.

so.... I guess my motto for the next few 6 months is going to be

Oh Life...

This past wednesday my Grandma McNeil (mom's mom) passed away. It did not come as a shock, she was really sick but nonetheless it was a sad day.

My cousin Kerri and I drove out to California that next morning for her funeral. We hadn't seen each other in years but its amazing how in twelve hours you can rekindle a friendship. It was also really fun to see how we had the same sense of humor and just were able to get along so well. She drove the whole way there (and back) she's a saint. She claims it was because she had spent countless hours on a bus when she was at the Jerusalem Center in Israel this past summer but maybe she read my blog on all my car troubles. Whoops.

Friday came and it was Grandma's viewing and Saturday morning was her funeral. Jordan and his wife and three boys were able to come from Washington and Jeremy flew in from North Dakota. This was the first time all of us siblings had been together in 7-8 years! I loved every second of it. It was so great being all together. You know my grandma was a big deal when she can bring the Weber kids to the same town. Not only was I able to hang out with my two awesome brothers but hanging out with all of my cousins was too much fun. I think everyone had fun (even the grownups, yep i still consider myself a kid), I heard rumors of a family reunion in the works.

Jordan (he kept reminding everyone he was a really big deal as he walked around in his military dress uniform), Me, Jeremy
My grandparents on their wedding day

It was really fun being able to be with some of my cousins and hang out, we went to a movie and ate lots of In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco. We reminisced with my Grandpa about the good times we had with Grandma and how they impacted our childhoods. My Grandma was one of the greatest people I know and one of the greatest examples. She lived a great life with an even better family. She had written a letter about her life that was read at her funeral . In it she wrote that she every night as she lay down to go to bed she would as her self "Have I done any good in the world today?"This has stuck with me ever since that day. Even at her death she was able to be an example to me. She is and will be missed by all who knew her, but she is in a better place now and reunited with her mom, dad and siblings. So, until we meet again...RIP Grandma, you are amazing.

Sorry I'm not Sorry

Well it has been a while, I find that I am not as witty as I want to be anymore when it comes to writing these blog posts. But I'll give it the 'ole college try.

So, summer has come and gone (too fast) with summer school sucking the fun out of it...okay, okay I might be exaggerating a little. I still had a TON of fun, but it might have been a tad more fun with out summer school in the mix.

As soon as summer school ended, I went to NY to visit my friends for 8 days. Vicki played host to me for the week and it was as if I never left! We did our usual activities (when she wasn't being an adult and at work)

-manis/pedis (paws and claws, as Vicki calls it)
- watched and obscene amount of TV shows (Teen wolf, PLL etc)
- ate too much...pff, can never eat too much good food
- make red velvet cup cakes
- saw Glee 3D (despite Vicki crying about wearing the "not cool" 3D glasses)
- went to the movies again and saw crazy, stupid love
-went shopping way too much

and many other activities. You might be thinking, "did she spend all of her time with Vicki?" well no I did not, even though we probably could have! Much time, but not enough was spent with all of the friends I wanted to see. It was crazy how much I had missed them.

But, I hate to admit it...I did miss Utah a little bit.

So I came home and did this. Not shocked.

S.T.R.E.S.S.E.D.

I am a list person.
It calms me down to see everything in my life written down on a calendar and all laid out in front of me.
This is what my July looked like.

okay, okay it doesn't look as bad seeing it now..but it felt busy.

And now with finals for summer school coming up, moving out, work, and leaving for NY...I'm feeling more stressed.

so, I am going to write it all out.

two 8 page papers
3 finals
a geography quiz
3 assignments
moving out
working 15 hours

again...doesn't seem so bad writing it out.

the good news is on friday Sam J. and I are going shopping!!

much needed.

ps. Skydiving was amazing, i want to go again and again. maybe bungee jumping next?

there's proof i did it!

HP was also fantastic.

blah, blah, blah, boring life, SKYDIVING

i've been kind of avoiding blogging because i couldn't think of anything to say...is anyone surprised? ha

here's an update... i've been doing a lot of working. which is great! who doesn't love $$$
when i'm not working you can usually find me at megs house or elise's! and truthfully i dont think i could ever get sick of either one of them!

last night beth had a dessert party and movie night at her and landon's house and it was awesome! obvi. so megs made her delicious applesauce/chocolate chip cookies and then she helped me make the "momma weber's chocolate cake" (or "better than sex cake" which landon assured me it wasnt. haha.) but i needed LOTS of help with this cake (also a shout out to my other mom, momma kells, the cake wouldnt have come out of the pan with out her!) the end masterpiece was amazing. i forgot how much i loved this cake!

harry potter 7 pt. 2 comes out at midnight tomorrow! on the downside i do have to work until 10 but that is not going to stop me from dressing up, using a wand, casting spells on everyone around me and getting a dark mark on my arm!

everyone better watch this video. you will love it.

on saturday 4-5 of us are going SKYDIVING!!!!! yayayaya. okay im excited now but we'll see how i am when i actually have to jump. I love doing stuff like this so i really think im going to love it. i'll let you know the end result. im stoked though!!!

we (megs elise and i) have been obsessed with jenna marbles videos. if you havent seen them. youtube them right now....i mean it. stop reading this and do it. her justin bieber video has been a staple in all our conversations. every wednesday is like christmas (she comes out with new videos on wednesdays) duh.
