This past wednesday my Grandma McNeil (mom's mom) passed away. It did not come as a shock, she was really sick but nonetheless it was a sad day.
My cousin Kerri and I drove out to California that next morning for her funeral. We hadn't seen each other in years but its amazing how in twelve hours you can rekindle a friendship. It was also really fun to see how we had the same sense of humor and just were able to get along so well. She drove the whole way there (and back) she's a saint. She claims it was because she had spent countless hours on a bus when she was at the Jerusalem Center in Israel this past summer but maybe she read my blog on all my car troubles. Whoops.
Friday came and it was Grandma's viewing and Saturday morning was her funeral. Jordan and his wife and three boys were able to come from Washington and Jeremy flew in from North Dakota. This was the first time all of us siblings had been together in 7-8 years! I loved every second of it. It was so great being all together. You know my grandma was a big deal when she can bring the Weber kids to the same town. Not only was I able to hang out with my two awesome brothers but hanging out with all of my cousins was too much fun. I think everyone had fun (even the grownups, yep i still consider myself a kid), I heard rumors of a family reunion in the works.

My grandparents on their wedding day
It was really fun being able to be with some of my cousins and hang out, we went to a movie and ate lots of In-N-Out and El Pollo Loco. We reminisced with my Grandpa about the good times we had with Grandma and how they impacted our childhoods. My Grandma was one of the greatest people I know and one of the greatest examples. She lived a great life with an even better family. She had written a letter about her life that was read at her funeral . In it she wrote that she every night as she lay down to go to bed she would as her self "Have I done any good in the world today?"This has stuck with me ever since that day. Even at her death she was able to be an example to me. She is and will be missed by all who knew her, but she is in a better place now and reunited with her mom, dad and siblings. So, until we meet again...RIP Grandma, you are amazing.
Love you mucho chica! Such a cute post.
